Dr. Barbara M. D’Orio, MD

Dr. D’Orio is a board certified adult psychiatrist. She moved from Long Island, NY to Atlanta, GA in 1983 to attend medical school at Morehouse School of Medicine. She completed her residency in psychiatry at Emory University in 1993. She then joined the faculty at Emory where she served as medical director of the emergency and crisis stabilization services at Grady Hospital. She went on to serve as the quality director for psychiatry at Grady. She was an Adjunct Associate Professor for Morehouse School of medicine from 2010 – 2021. She also had an outpatient practice at Emory clinic from 1993 – 2007. She retired from Emory in 2021, but retains her affiliation with the medical school in her role as Associate Professor Emeritus of Psychiatry.
Dr. D’Orio has a deep commitment to improve the quality of life of her patients. She has extensive experience in the treatment of mood, anxiety, psychotic and personality disorders.
