Michael Boyd, DMSc, PA-C
Michael Boyd, DMSc. P.A.-C, graduated with undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences with a minor in Chemistry, from Bloomfield College, Bloomfield, New Jersey. Michael took a position after graduation with CIBA Pharmaceuticals, currently known as Norvartis, as a Scientist in the Analytical Chemistry Laboratory, where he worked on anti-hypertensive medications prior to release to market. After attending a summer Biomedical Science Program at Yale School of Medicine, for Medical College Admission Test Preparation. Michael was introduced to the Physician Associate/Assistant profession.
Michael entered Pace University-Lenox Hill Physician Assistant’s Program, New York, N.Y. fall 1997-2000.
Michael, then entered International University of Health Sciences School of Medicine, where he was on the M.D. Track. After completing medical school years one and two and becoming ECFMG qualified, Michael while preparing for USMLE I, opportunity became available in Behavioral Medicine/Psychiatry. Michael decided to transition to the Doctor of Medical Science Program which is a Professional Clinical Degree for Advanced Practice Clinicians.
Michael has worked in Emergency Medicine for sixteen years, where he managed patients contending with Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder due to noncompliance; Depression, Anxiety as well Suicide Ideation and Attempts. These encounters inspired Michael to focus his attention on Behavioral Medicine/Psychiatry, due to the tremendous lack of resources and empathy for the patients seeking the services of Psychiatry.
My goal is to have a positive experience with every client I have the privilege of assisting with working towards living their best life.
